Hey I've been dying to blog this for a long time but blogger isn't cooperating. Anyway, KL was a blast. Feels great to be alone in a foreign land with your loved one. Esp with all the cab drivers out there trying to suck you dry of your money (even though the fare is still damn cheap!), you can't help but look out for each other.

When we first arrived at the coach terminal, the first driver that approached us tried to charge us 50RM for the trip to hotel. Thankfully I remembered that the trip from KL to genting cost around 50RM too so we said no thanks. The next one we found said 20RM so satisfied that it was so much cheaper than the former, and the eagerness to get the hell out of that ghetto liked place, not to mention our growling stomach, we took it. However, on the way back the following day, we took a meter cab from the hotel back to the same place and the fare was only 6.40RM. We've been cheated! More atrocious was a guy who actually short-changed us when he already overcharged us. But still I don't know to feel blessed that SG's system is so much more transparent or not because transparency comes with a higher price. In fact, I think the cab in m'sia is actually cheaper than the MRT in s'pore.

There was a sale going on there and we definitely feel that the one night stay we had was not enough. It feels great to see a 50% tag because then you can divide the price by 2, then divide by 2 again. And even so, you know that it is still lesser than what it actually is since exchange rate is 1=2.2. And trust me, we see plenty of 50% and 70% off. The handbag I bought was from seed. I think I saw in s'pore tangs which was selling at at least 50SGD but in KL, the retail price was 99RM with a 50% off. So it becomes less than SGD25 after all the division.

I can't help but marvel at the price of the food too. We bought 2 large plate of those hotplate liked chicken rice (though it's not served on hotplate) for only 9RM. That's like 2SGD each plate and we're talking about air-conditioned foodcourt in a shopping mall that sells Louis Vuitton. Nando's chicken was delicious and A&W's curly fries was great. Pity they're the begones of s'pore.

But something strange seems to be going on. I've been to many many shoes shop and everytime I see something I like, it's always out of stock for my size. Are all the malaysians a size 8? The most "kuazhang" one was when I entered a shop and picked up 3 shoes off the rack and asked for my size and the sales assisstant came back shaking his head with not a single box in his hands. Thankfully, I bought my shoes successfully owing to a helpful lady who called the other branches to check for my size. Turns out, there was one branch who has my size and it's at the first shopping mall we went! Can't blame me for not seeing it the first time round but the mall is huge! It's 6 storeys high and the base area it occupied is like 5 tampines mall? Like Andrew said, it's the mother of all shopping malls.

That basically sums up my short last-minute trip and I can't wait to get back there again! Esp when I missed the chance to go up the twin towers.

p.s: those rumors about the malaysian girls are so pretty? They're fake!

p.p.s: oh and you should learn to appreciate the singapore guys' dressing after you've seen the stuff the m'sian wears there.
