It's been a long time since I last did what I did today: went out alone. I went to get some fabric from arab st, went to the gym, then went shopping around cityhall area all by myself. I remember how I do that at least once a week when I was working at IPOS, as I stroll along Orchard Road waiting hours for Andrew to book out every Saturday.. me back in secondary school and JC when I would take 65 to town and conquer all the shops I see. I haven't done that for so long I almost forgot how enjoyable it can be. In fact, I almost found it daunting and undesirable earlier today. I was so tempted to get someone accompany me that when I met Dechao in school, I nearly ask if he would like to join me for dinner after gym. I'm glad I didn't because as soon as I stepped into Raffles City, the word "SALE" screamed at me in every direction. Finally! The Great Singapore Sale has arrived. I bought two bras, a tunic, a polkie dotted skirt, and a pair of earrings. Haha I would have post the pics but my camera is with my bro. Besides, I'm feeling kinda tired from all the running and walking. Spending time alone is indeed therapeutic, albeit financially unhealthy. I damn nearly got this waistcoat from Guess at $145.90 with 50% off. I'm thinking maybe I'll test my fate with it after I got my pay from TFWA.
Speaking of TFWA, I spent 4.5 days working at Suntec and it was quite an experience. I started off by really hating the job and the supervisor and the overbearing, overly demanding and ridiculously unreasonable customers. Don't really feel like going into the stories again but trust my word that some of them are really quite interesting, despite being infuriating. I think the saving grace of the job was my fun colleagues, and the lacoste/zara outfits we get to keep. I went to a lacoste store yesterday and found out that the 2 polo tees we got has a retail price of 99sgd each! Plus the $99 zara skirt and the possibly above $100 lacoste shoes, I think the outfit is worth more than the pay I'll be receiving. I'm not complaining!
Caught Da Vinci Code yesterday. Andrew didn't think it was good but I actually like it. It was a close depiction of the book and the movie really filled in the visuals for me. I think they directed it to the point, putting in the most important keys to the story that makes it complete..unlike the Harry Potter movies. Most importantly, it stars my fave actress Audrey Tautou! Anyway after the show we went to Kenny Rogers for dinner. Haven't had it for at least a year? And apparently they have changed their self-service order to that of waiter-service. Of coz, service charge is included now but I think I kinda like it this way. I've always found trying to balance a kenny rogers tray while navigating my way to my designated table somewhat challenging. Or maybe coz I'm not the one footing the bill so I didn't mind heh.
Okay time to pack for tomorrow's Sentosa trip. Gonna have dimsum! Yum yum! Can't wait!
