Aloha!! I have been missing for quite some time haven't I? To make up for the absence, I have prepared a really long entry ahead. Hope it can keep you entertained in the next 1/2hr or so.
Okay so I shall begin in backward chronological order. Just caught Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on Friday night. Being a fan of the books as well as a cynic of the movies, I find it hard to rate this movie objectively. In any case, contrary to most, I liked the beginning of Order of the phoenix better (but the poor bf nearly fell asleep while the evil umbridge tortured harry and his friends) because I thought the ending just fell short of expectation.
And I find the problem with the past movies is evident in the current one as well. The essence of the story is always at the end when Dumbledore explained things to Harry. This part of the book puts everything into perspective when all the clues they dropped earlier makes sense and fits perfectly into the plot. This part of the story is also where I am moved to tears. Yet, it was hardly tear-inducing in the movie. I agree that Daniel Radcliffe probably acted pretty well compared to his co-stars esp and I shall give him credit for that. But once again Dumbledore did not come through. In the book, when he told Harry why he didn't want to tell Harry about the Prophecy because he does not want to take away Harry's happiness so early and why he did not give prefectorialship to Harry but to Ron also because he figured that Harry had too much responsibility as is already.

(I was supposed to be running away from the Dinosaur. Yes my acting is bad I know)
(I love this photo because it looks like the ghost bus in Harry Potter!)
(Rowing this boat thingy..one of the most boring in the Theme Park haha but we had plenty of time to kill coz the Park ticket is for the entire day...)
(On the monorail... another boring ride..but precisely coz it's boring do we have the time to take pics haha)
(Very nice model of the entire Genting Highlands)
(Leaving Genting..)
(To KL!)
We met up with Tim, Joyce and YL. We visited this Discovery Centre thing at KLCC which was like Propaganda for the M'sia Govt. Then we went shopping at the Jalan Bukit Bintang area. Didn't get to shop much coz we're always in a rush. Only managed to buy a pair of pretty jap-like satin flats from Nose at only RM36! Then we makaned at Sushi King which was cheap but food was as good as it cost only. We also found a food street (the famous Jalan Ah Lor) in the area and helped Tim find his Ramly Burgers. It seemed to have died out in KL.
(my beef yakiniku set from sushi king)
(Our Pork Knuckles)
(Tim's sausages... okay that sounded wrong)
(Our first and last group take at the restaurant)
(On the horrible train ride back..you know how bad it is judging from their expressions)
(The view outside the window made up for it though...almost)
Yep so that sums up my Genting/KL trip. Wait!! Did you think I was done blogging??? No of course not. I told you I am gonna entertain you wasn't I?
So work at Credit Suisse has begun a week and I must say the people here are really nice (as nice as those at MOF) although the pace is so different like I'm in two different dimension. It's all good though except that I was rather tired at the beginning because I report to work on Monday morning when I reached Singapore on Sunday late at night. Really addicted to the coffee machine everyday la. Each person actually has two computer screens to facilitate our usage. Getting so reliant on it already that I think I will have a hard time adjusting when I go back to school haha.
(The breathtaking view from my office pantry at the 21st floor)
More random pics!!!
And some photos of the BF and I feasting at Awon Korean Restaurant after he came back from ICT. (I wouldn't recommend this place to friends)
Okay think I'll stop here. This post took me 3 hours la. Tired man. K ciaoz! Will post more pics from MOF farewell lunch soon!
P.s: did anyone noticed that I cut and dyed my hair?
