WARNING! MAJOR SPOILER FOR THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE!
3:14 PM
Okay, just want to say, before you continue reading this, this post contains spoiler of the half-blood prince so if u haven't read the book and intend to read it, stop reading this post.
Well well, I just want to rant here because I am greatly disturbed by JKR's shocking decision to kill off Dumbledore in the 6th book and it is even more disturbing that the one who killed him was none other than Severus Snape. Given Dumbledore's usual sharp judgement and his insistent in trusting Snape, I had never ever suspected that Snape would actually betray them. Despite so, I still don't think he's evil. Selfish, maybe. Because of the unbreakable vow he made with Narcissa to carry out the plan to kill Dumbledore lest Draco Malfoy fails to do it, which in this case, the latter did, and Snape was left with the choice of killing Dumbledore or letting himself die by breaking the vow. But what got me thinking is why did he agree to the unbreakable vow in the first place? My only guess is that he is in love with Narcissa. But still, killing the man who had been his mentor, savior and only true friend for the past sixteen years is unforgivable. I was actually in denial even after the book ended.
But on a brighter note, I am actually looking forward to the 7th book now because of the promise of what to expect in the 6th's ending. I'm actually kind of sick of another story set in Hogwarts so Harry's search for the Voldemort's horcruxes should be interesting. Also, I'm pretty happy about how JKR wrote Harry in this book because he seems so much more mature and smarter now. In order of the phoenix, i was rather turned off by his badtemper.
All in all, I enjoyed the book thoroughly but it's quite sad that I spent over 40 bux on a book that i finish in less than 24hours. Now I guess i can only look foward to the goblet of fire movie this nov.
