I have watched the Goblet of Fire!!!
Man, I must say, I am a little disappointed. Just a little though.
I mean, it is still a very entertaining show, exciting, thrilling and funny.
However, perhaps because I know the book so well I can practically memorise it line by line, the changes in the movie was kinda weird to me.
First, I felt that the switching of scenes was kinda abrupt. Second, they sort of left out many important factors and the clues to the ending. I think they were going more for excitement in the 2+hours rather than the brilliance of how all the plot fits together in the book.
But I must applaude Daniel Radcliffe for capturing Harry Potter so well. And the part when Harry escaped from the graveyard and returned to the maze, the movie managed to touch me like the book did. In fact, I think it probably affected me because I read the book and was able to recall all the things he'd been through and is going to go through and I just feel so sad for him. And Radcliffe conveyed those feelings really well.
I wonder how they are going to film the 5th book given that it's the thickest book of all 6. If 2+hours is going to make the 4th movie seem rushed, shouldn't they split the movie into 2? But I have a strong idea they won't, which I think is a bad idea. The 5th book is very rich in history and it's more or less to explain things of the past or a build up to the last 2 books. And if they film it like this 4th movie, or like the 3rd, they're gonna cut away many important, but maybe not so entertaining, details.
But then again, the movie is mainly for non-readers, so I think it doesn't make much difference to them whether they got the history right or not. And for people like me, well, we already read the book, and we know the score, so what's the big deal?
I'm rambling, ain't I?
At least I'm considerably calmed down now. Thanks for reading my Harry Potter Blab once again!
