Have you ever been in a situation where you feel like you're just waiting for a disaster to happen and for some strange reason you just can't muster up the effort to stop it? It's kinda like the extended version of the Long John incident in JC when I was balancing my food tray while trying to shift bags away from the table. Everyone including me saw how I tilted the tray accidentally and the cup of coke slided across the tray in a slow motion towards where Alvin Tay was seating. I could have tilted the tray back and prevented soaking Alvin with coke but somehow it just didn't happen. We could all see the disaster looming ahead but yet there was nothing we did about it.

Yeah, that's what I've been feeling nowadays.

Anyway, I think I have been officially made a workaholic. I am enjoying my work a lot. Yes there's a lot of stuff to do, from customer service (my least fave part) to inventory stocking and recording, to rsvp events for tenants and the admin work for leasing of the promotional area in TM. Despite my outcry of cheap labor (one person doing work from various departments), I find I actually like it this way. Time pass very very fast at work and I actually feel empowered and important because I alone am responsible for things like inventory.

In the event of work, I have not forgotten to have fun! Finally had Prego with my fellow workaholics (Thank you Shawn!) and Shawn tried his Spike D at Big O while Viv and I had some Bailey-Undetected-Bailey-Mudpie. Then it's off to Over the Hedge at Cine. Hmm.. we didn't really enjoy the show. In fact it wasn't as bad for me as it was for them since I'm quite a movie addict and I've watched many much worse movies. But I could think up a few common reasons for our lack of apetite for this show:

1. We are too intellectual to enjoy the somewhat cheesy plot
2. All the good reviews had set our expectations too high
3. We were all very exhausted (or it could be the movie that made us tired..I can never tell as it's just like the sage question of whether the chicken or the egg came first)

Indeed! I don't know if it's just me but I could feel exhaustion in the air. We ended our night after Coffee Club at about 2am (very early for our standard!) and Viv fell asleep on the ride home. Shawn commented that I look so "haggard" that it made him wonder if his car was emitting some sort of tired gas (you know I would have kicked him in the **** if it wasn't on account of his Prego treat).

Then I went back to work the following day and it was a disaster! The girl who took over the redemption counter on Friday while I return to the office didn't keep track of the gifts that were given out. This may not seem important to the customer service people, but because of that, I have no idea how I am going to keep track of the inventory records. Then plus the fact that Saturday was so crowded I barely had time to fix the problem. And in my hurry to retrieve the inventory, my finger got cut several times by the carton boxes. It still hurts now! By 2pm I was having a serious migraine and only had time for lunch at 4pm.

I was so glad to leave by 6+ and was close to flying away from that dreaded TM to Orchard to meet my P sch friends. Anyway we went to Fishermen's Wharf for dinner before returning to town for some coffee at starbucks while waiting for our show to start. Once again, I found myself laughing so hard at the rubbish they said I was tearing uncontrollably. I really enjoy their company a lot despite my tiredness. We watched The Nun and found ourselves laughing somemore. If I said Over the Hedge was bad, The Nun trashes it hands down. Other than the talking toilet bowl and musical fountain, I think the only other thing watchable was the girl in the show. She reminds me deeply of Mischa Barton (which means I find her pretty). Eventually I blame the crappiness of the show on the bad acting and the predictable plot. Please guys, do not waste your $9.50 on it unless you're looking for a good laugh and happen to have a quirky sense of humor.

p.s: Saw Lora and her new boyfriend on Saturday and I must say the new one looks much much better than the previous. Good for her!

p.p.s: Finally found The Time Traveler's Wife from the Library. If only I had more time now to read it..
